The three major US stock indexes rose today after the Federal Open Market Committee’s May meeting minutes showed that it is appropriate to raise interest rates by half a point in the upcoming meetings in June and July. Shares of Amazon rose 2.6%, Tesla rose 4.9%, Nordstrom Inc (JWN.N) rose 14.0%, and fast-food chain Wendy’s Co (WEN.O) rose 9.8%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 191.66 points, or 0.6%, to 32,120.28 points, the Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 37.25 points, or 0.95%, to 3,978.73 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 170.29 points, or 1.51%, to 11,434.74 points.
