The US Department of Labor said that available job opportunities in the United States decreased by 54 thousand jobs to 10.458 million jobs in November, compared to 10.512 million jobs in October, after adjusting upwards, instead of 10.334 million previously reported. Professional and commercial services added 212,000 additional jobs, and jobs increased by 39,000 in manufacturing non-durable goods, while job opportunities decreased by 75,000 in finance and insurance, and job opportunities decreased by 44,000 in the federal government.
Employment fell to 6.055 million in November compared to 6.111 million in October, while employment increased by 74 thousand in the health care and social assistance sector, where the employment rate fell to 3.9% in November compared to 4.0% in October, and layoffs decreased by 95 thousand to 1.350 million.
