The Euro fell to its lowest levels in two years against the US dollar today as fears of a sharp rise in the number of new deaths in the spread of the Coronavirus in China led investors to seek American assets.

The Euro fell to $ 1.0835, the lowest level since May 2017, and fell against the Swiss franc to 1.0610 francs, the lowest level since August 2015.

Health officials said the number of coronavirus deaths in China’s Hubei Province rose by a record 242 on Thursday to 1,310, with a sharp rise in confirmed cases after a new diagnostic methodology was adopted.
